In my element

That is exactly what the gym does for me. It is not fitness, it is life. Keeping in shape and exercising provides so much more than a physical work out, but a mental one as well. The gym is also a place that provides a mental work out. It clears my mind and takes off so much stress...I feel so relieved once I am done.... It is true what they say about endorphins providing happiness.  That is my drug of choice :)  No matter how tired and exhausted you are, going to the gym should always be a priority......It is like taking medicine.
It also allows for me to self reflect and sort things out inside my head. This is why I feel like it is mental and physical therapy.

Lady Luck?

Does luck really exist? Or is it a myth like the Tooth Fairy or Santa Claus? People love to throw around "oh you're so lucky," or "I got lucky" or "I am so lucky." But are we really lucky? Or do we have to work hard and never give up in order to achieve this intangible (imaginary?) feeling of being "lucky?" I have been so used to hearing this throughout my life that I catch myself loosely throwing around "I am lucky" or "you are so lucky" without even really meaning it. I think I say it more of a figure of speech & part of speaking the English language.
I am a strong believer that we have to work hard to achieve our goals and if that is what you call lucky then I guess so. But that is usually not what people refer to when they loosely throw around this pipe dream type word. The word "luck" is ubiquitous and could be referred to any context and facet of life. I am not so sure I believe in luck and some people have better circumstances due to "luck" whether it be their upbringing, friendships or just circumstances they are faced with in life. I am on the fence with whether luck is the answer to this. I think we are dealt with a deck of cards that we have to make the most of in our life and although an outsider might think we are "lucky" it might not be how we feel. You don't know what happens behind closed doors even if it is sprinkled with so much splendor and opulence aesthetically speaking.
I think this life is solely our responsibility and when I hear people say you're lucky landing that job, promotion, meeting your soulmate a.k.a. love of your life, I find it hard to belief that it is luck. Spending many years in school and graduating and passing exams, certification exams, getting your head handed to you from one unsatisfying job after another until you finally work so hard that you land the job of your dreams is not luck....It is called determination, ambition, working within the right mindset & never giving up......This could be transferred to friendships, connections, true love....It all comes down to the right mindset and the energy you exude along with everything else I just previously stated. Our mind is a very powerful tool and is the puppet master of our life.
I believe there are no accidents and there is a plan for everyone that will come to fruition only if you are proactive in finding it after being knocked down so many times and refusing to never give up...  Eventually you will finally stand up & the universe will grant you your wish....You have to trust the process....I don't think "luck" makes any sense or sounds logical in my belief (opinion).

Maniacal Millennials??

Hi everyone, I thought we were Marching our way towards Spring but apparently I spoke too soon. We have been hit with an impromptu snow storm (s) yet again. I am cherishing the days when it is nice & sunny out.....

As I was browsing through a bookstore I stumbled upon an interesting book I have never heard of before:

I have heard the name "Millennial"  being thrown around loosely, mainly when referring to young professionals in the work force. I always wondered who qualifies as being part of this new word, but now thanks for stumbling upon this book my question is answered: Anyone born from the year 1981-1995 has made it part of the Millennial Generation just like back in the day when we had the Baby Boomer Generation. I was pretty astonished when I picked up this book that we as Millennials are looked at as being so superficial, shallow and egocentric. I as a Millennial do not totally adhere to this stereotype: I almost can't stand the use of texting, I find it extremely annoying and it almost always grates on my nerves! Isn't it faster just to say something over the phone v.s. having to tediously text each little letter while your fingers look like they are having convulsions? Especially when you are dating someone and/or just have something in depth to say that involves more than just a sentence or two. I only like to text if I have something short and sweet to say, but if I have something to say in detail I would much rather speak on the phone.
Is it our fault that the birth of the internet took off to such great leaps & bounds that led to smart phones and social media that somehow gravitated towards FaceTime, Skype, Snap Chat, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc....? Maybe the inception of "selfies" helped catapult this humorous notion!  However, not only Millennials have gotten on this bandwagon either.
I had no idea that the Millennial Generation was viewed so much in this light that it led to a satirical comedic book set in NYC. It is a spin off from Humans of NY.
Thanks to happenstance I now know a little bit more about what a Millennial is. I found it witty that this book also pokes fun at what it is like to be a Millennial living in NYC. As I browsed through the pages of Millennials Of New York I totally related to the jokes each "Millennial" meant when talking about life in NYC. What is wrong with saying "Netflix & Chill??"" I use that term when I am literally referring to relaxing and watching Netflix!  My mom is selfie obsessed and she is part of the Baby Boomer Generation, what do you have to say about that?!
